Rowe
No need to choose between nature and downtown living. This apartment building gives you both.
At the Rowe, we designed a residential community that connects residents to the energy of downtown Victoria while framing views toward Steiger Lake and the surrounding parkland.
At the edge of downtown Victoria, this site offered a rare combination: scenic views toward Steiger Lake and Carver Park Reserve on one side, and the walkable energy of downtown just steps away. The goal was to create a residential community that could embrace both—connecting residents to nature while strengthening the life of the downtown district.
We sited the building to take advantage of views north toward the lake and regional parkland, while reinforcing the pedestrian character of the street with ground-floor retail and an active streetscape. The Lake Minnetonka Regional Bike Trail runs along the north edge of the site, making outdoor recreation part of everyday life for residents.
The Rowe includes 150 apartment homes ranging from efficient alcoves to spacious three-bedroom residences, including several walk-up units that give the building a neighborhood feel along the street. Every home includes a private balcony, and select units feature covered balconies framed by distinctive arched brick openings that add depth and character to the façade.
Community life centers around a series of thoughtfully designed amenity spaces. The resident lounge and coffee bar anchor the main gathering area, warmed by a dramatic double-sided fireplace. Tucked behind a concealed bookcase door, a hidden speakeasy adds a bit of surprise to the building’s social spaces. Additional amenities—including a fitness room, yoga studio, pet spa, and fenced dog run—support both everyday convenience and connection among residents.
On the fourth floor, we extended those gathering spaces upward with an indoor sky lounge that opens onto a rooftop deck overlooking downtown Victoria. Fire pits, grill stations, and bar seating create an inviting place to relax and take in the views.
The Rowe brings together walkability, natural surroundings, and contemporary apartment living—creating a community that feels equally connected to downtown and the landscape beyond.
