Riverwalk
Baseball fans rarely get a front-row seat at home. At Riverwalk, residents can watch the game from their own courtyard.
Just steps from Rochester’s stadium, this community turns its unique location into a social amenity—bringing the energy of game day directly into daily life.
Riverwalk sits just steps from Rochester’s baseball stadium, giving the project a built-in sense of energy from the start. The client asked us to create a residential community that embraced that setting—something lively and social, but still comfortable enough to feel like home.
We organized the building around a central outdoor plaza that functions as the heart of the community. Residents can gather around the pool and spa, fire up the grills, or simply spend time outdoors with neighbors. Along the plaza edge, stadium-facing bleacher seating offers direct views into the ballpark. On game nights, residents can watch the action right from home.
Inside, the lobby sets the tone for the building with a custom fireplace, warm materials, and curated artwork. It’s designed to make the arrival experience feel welcoming and memorable from the moment residents walk through the door.
The site presented a technical challenge: shallow bedrock complicated the design of the parking structure and foundations. Working closely with our engineering and construction partners, we developed structural solutions that allowed the project to move forward without compromising the design or the budget.
The finished building includes a variety of residences, including lofted walk-out units with double-height living spaces that bring in generous natural light. The result is a community that feels energetic, social, and uniquely connected to its surroundings.
