Ovation Apartments
The movies may be gone, but the show goes on.
Ovation brings new life to a historic theater site in downtown Hopkins, blending housing, retail, and a playful nod to classic Hollywood.
When a beloved movie theater site in downtown Hopkins became available for redevelopment, the opportunity was clear: create a residential community that could bring new life to Mainstreet while honoring the site’s history.
We designed Ovation as a four-story mixed-use building with 150 apartment homes above 14,000 square feet of street-level commercial space. The goal was to strengthen the pedestrian energy of downtown Hopkins while introducing new housing in the heart of the community.
Because the project replaces a historic theater, we wove subtle cinematic references into the interior design. Nods to classic Hollywood appear throughout the amenity spaces, giving residents a playful reminder of the site’s past.
Amenities were designed to support the social energy of the building. Residents can grab coffee in the lounge, gather in the club room, test their swing on the golf simulator, or head up to the rooftop deck and sky lounge for views of downtown Hopkins.
Ovation brings together housing, retail, and a strong sense of place—creating a community that feels right at home on Mainstreet.
