Belleston Residence

Thoughtful design can make everyday life easier—and more dignified—for residents who need additional care.

Belleston Residence was designed to support individuals living with traumatic brain injuries, creating a calm, restorative environment tailored to both residents and caregivers.

Belleston Residence in Plymouth is a new assisted living community designed specifically for individuals living with traumatic brain injuries. For the client, the project represents their first purpose-built residential facility and an opportunity to create a setting that better supports both residents and caregivers.

We began by visiting the client’s existing facilities and meeting with staff to understand the challenges they encounter in daily operations. Those insights shaped key decisions about layout, circulation, and resident support spaces.

The 28-unit residence is organized to encourage independence while fostering a sense of community. Interior design plays an important role in the experience of the building, using light, low-contrast colors and natural materials to create a calm and restorative environment.

Wood textures, soft lighting, and subtle organic patterns introduce biophilic elements that connect the interior to the surrounding landscape.

Scheduled for completion in 2026, Belleston Residence will provide a thoughtfully designed home environment that supports healing, dignity, and community connection.
