Hayden Murphy Equipment Company

When the equipment gets bigger, the building has to keep up.

Hayden Murphy needed a shop expansion capable of servicing larger equipment while keeping operations running—so we designed a facility that increases capacity without slowing the work.

Hayden Murphy Equipment Company needed to expand its shop facility to accommodate larger equipment and improve workflow for technicians. The client’s priority was clear: increase service capacity while keeping the existing shop operational during construction.

We extended the length and height of the existing shop bay, creating the clearance needed to service larger equipment while adding new storage areas and upgraded locker rooms for staff.

Because the shop had to remain active throughout the project, we worked closely with the contractor to develop a phased construction approach that minimized disruption to daily operations.

The facility also required specialized technical infrastructure. A precision trench with hydraulic guides was integrated into the shop floor to support the disassembly of crane boom shafts. To maximize interior space, we incorporated the overhead crane system directly into the wall structure rather than allowing it to dominate the shop floor.

Additional daylighting improves interior working conditions, supporting both safety and productivity for technicians.

The completed expansion gives Hayden Murphy the capacity to service larger equipment while creating a more efficient and comfortable environment for the team.
